New courts will support walking/running track
First Community Bank, Farm Bureau Insurance Boone County
Editor’s Note: This is the tenth and final article in a series featuring information about each room at the Creekside Community Center and Creekside Aquatics.
First Community Bank and Farm Bureau Insurance Boone County sponsor the two new full-sized courts still under construction at Creekside. The space will be used for basketball and volleyball. With the floor covering already purchased, the multi-use space can be used for large events, such as banquets, seminars, corporate meetings, and more.
Creekside will provide tables, chairs, and black tablecloths and offer a list of businesses interested in catering.
On the second floor of the open gym space is a walking/running track. An elevator is available for stroller or wheelchair access. Ten times around is approximately one mile. The beautiful view will greatly benefit those who want to exercise in an air-conditioned facility and avoid extreme weather conditions outside.
There will be seating for watching games and a snack bar area.
First Community Bank's community president, Tabatha Campbell, expressed her excitement about the project: “We believe in giving back to the communities we serve because they are the heart of who we are. Participating in the Creekside Community Center allows us to support a space where neighbors can connect, stay active, and build relationships. Projects like this strengthen our communities and make them great places to live and work.”
Agency Manager Boone County Neal Mitchell said, “We felt the Community Center was one of the biggest things to impact Harrison and the surrounding community in many years. We felt blessed to have the opportunity to be a sponsor and to show our support to the community.”
Harrison Parks and Rec will be scheduling activities for this facility. If your business or non-profit wants to host an event, contact someone at 870-741-2346.
