BURNING PERMITS

Harrison City Ordinance Number: F307.2

The Harrison Fire Department shall approve all outdoor burning. A burn permit shall be obtained from the Harrison Fire Department prior to kindling of any fire. Only small limbs, leaves, and grass clippings shall be permitted to be burned within the city limits of Harrison. The person igniting the fire shall be in attendance with the fire at all times, and shall keep some type of extinguishing agent at all times while fire is burning, and the fire shall be kept the proper distance from structures in accordance with the Arkansas Fire Prevention Code. A Fire Official with the City of Harrison Fire Department shall personally inspect and approve any brush piles resulting from land clearing. 

Open burning permits can be obtained at the Harrison Fire Department located at 118 Industrial Park Road. Individuals are encouraged to call ahead to make sure the officer in charge will be issuing burning permits, (870)-741-6384. Burning permits are based on current and future weather forcast for the day, and shall only be good for that day until sundown.

Welcome to the Harrison Fire Department website.

The goal of our page is to provide valuable information about your fire department and the services we provide.

We are committed to providing the highest level of customer service to our community. We protect lives and property through fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical services, fire prevention and public education. We serve our residents with 31 personnel from 3 fire stations and maintain an Insurance Services Office (ISO) rating of a Class 2. We recently created a Community Risk Reduction Division within our department that handles all aspects of building construction and fire code enforcement within the city.

With all of this being said, there is still another very important part of what we do. It is extremely important that your fire department be an active, visible, and approachable part of the community of our growing, vibrant city every chance we get.
